Meet Our Trainer: Ravi Wasan
(Director of Training and Behaviour Programs)
Ravi is fast becoming a prominent figure in the Australian pet industry due to his professional and individual approach with all he is involved with.
He has acquired training in Captive Animal Management and also holds a Certificate in Horticulture. This has allowed him the opportunity to assist in the design and construction of the exhibits in Sydney 's newest zoo, Sydney Wildlife World, where he currently operates as the Head Supervisor for both the Bird Department and Bird Presentations.
He is also the founder of Feathered Friends Bird Behavioural Breeding Association of N.S.W, where he is currently serving as President.
Ravi has had a love for animals for as long as he can remember and throughout his career he has had the privilege of working with a large variety of bird species, which range from the smallest of finches to large flightless birds such as Emus and Cassowaries.
Ravi's ability to train birds and other animals has benefited the likes of many industries; apart from providing professional advice, Ravi has been called upon to guest speak at bird conventions and to assist in shows with such trainers as the legendry Steve Austin.
You may of seen or heard Ravi along with his flock of highly trained birds, known as Clever Feathers, being interviewed on some of the following TV shows:
- The Today Show - Channel Ten News - Totally Wild - The Great Outdoors - Sydney Weekender - Nova 96.9 - 2GB Ravi is also involved in directing the annual Sydney Pet and Animal Expo's Bird and Wildlife Presentation Area (The largest internal display), and writing articles for magazines such as Aviary Life.
